The Algerian government has introduced policies to Limit curb cement prices further(2009/10/11)

Portland Cement Association, the most recent data indicate that the first six months of this year, the U.S. cement consumption decreased by 30%. But the Portland Cement Association Chief Economist EdSullivan that the U.S. economy has bottomed out, the cement consumption began to rise.

Sullivan said, "07,08-year drop in cement consumption in excess of 10% in the first half of the U.S. cement sales has experienced the biggest drop in history, compared with the peak in 2005 to reduce 50 million tons."

Portland Cement Association believes that the next few years, the U.S. cement consumption to a large extent the impact of policies from the Government, especially the "Recovery and Reinvestment Act" (ARRA) effects. The Association is also concerned that federal and state governments faced the grim economic environment, the economy would boost the funds "in part, fruitless."

"In 2010 the first half of the underlying factors that lead to economic recession will continue to play a role in" Sullivan said, "I think the boost is only slightly affected ARRA. Subside before these factors, we can only expect modest economic growth."

Portland Cement Association Cement demand continues to believe that the possibility of a slight pick-up in 45%, but also warned that by 2011, with the impact of weakening economic stimulus plan, the U.S. consumption of cement or 30% may occur more than 10% of the decline, reaching a record time lows.
